With
parents "Jack of Hearts" and superhero Wonder Woman, Steely Man quickly learned that he possesses extraordinary
super powers, including the ability to quickly steal hearts across America.
Steely debuted in the Bred-by class at the Cypress Creek
Kennel Club show on November 10, 2018, and was again shown by Paula at the Conroe Kennel Club shows on December 1 and 2, 2018,
where he was Reserve Winners Dog each time. Steely then hit the road in January 2019 with the A-Team of Alfonso Escobedo and
Ashlie Whitmore where he picked up points in Louisiana and Arizona, including Winners Dog/Best of Winners at the Sun Country
Terrier Club under Judge Loraine Boutwell. Steely picked up back-to-back majors at the Baytown Kennel Club shows in Crosby,
Texas, March 2-3, 2019, where Ashlie Whitmore steered him to Winners Dog both days under Judges Lee Herr and James Ham, leaving
Steely three points shy of his Champion title. At 11 months, Steely earned his Champion title in superstar style, going Winners
Dog, Best of Winners and Best of Breed over three specials at the Fort Worth Kennel Club show on Saturday, March 23, 2019,
under Judge Kathi Brown for a five-point major. Steely was then handled by the A-Team at the Claremore Cluster in Oklahoma
(March 27-31, 2019) picking up five GCH majors, including four Best of Breed wins over other champions, followed by back-to-back
group placements in Alabama (Terrier Group 3 and 4 under Judges Jacqueline Stacy and Terry Stacy) on April 6 and 7, 2019.
A week before his first birthday, Steely won his Grand Champion title the first
day of the Peach Blossom Cluster (April 10-14, 2019) winning Select Dog (5-pt major) under Judge Ken Murray at the Atlanta
KC show on Wednesday, Best Opposite the next day under Judge Richard William Powell, then back-to-back Best of Breed wins
under Judges Gary Doerge and Col. Joe Purkhiser, and finishing with a Specialty Select under Judge Wood Wornall at the West
Highland White Terrier Club of Greater Atlanta on Sunday. Steely also made the list of Top Ten Westies in the U.S.A. for shows
through March 31, 2019, and retired a Top Westie when last shown by Alfonso Escobedo at the Houston World Series of Dog Shows
in July 2019, where Steely was Select Dog among a large entry of other top Westies under Breeder Judge Patricia Anne Keenan.
Even at year-end, more than five months after his last show, Steely was still #10 Breed and #14 all-breed Westie in the country
(per stats posted November 30, 2019).
In
October 2019, Steely moved to a beautiful new home in Dallas (which he spells dallaS) where he is living the high life in
a high rise with every amenity imaginable. He loves his new owner and enjoys being neighbors with his Aunt Katniss.
