BISS CH Woodlands Nike Windrunner, NA, CGC

We are thankful to Mary Shrieve and the Woodlands line for providing us with our first show dog, Nike. We are also grateful to Randall Dickerson for helping to show Nike and for teaching Paula some excellent grooming skills. In addition to his conformation championship title, Paula worked with Nike to earn his novice agility (NA) and a canine good citizen (CGC) titles. Nike won the Terrier Group the first time Paula took him in the ring as a special in October 1999, then went into semi-retirement. Because of his excellent conformation and coat condition, we brought him out again intermittently in 2001 and almost immediately he won the West Highland White Terrier Club of SE Texas Regional Specialty show in March 2001; Nike made it into the Top Twenty, earning an invitation to the inaugural AKC/Eukanuba American Dog Classic held at year-end 2001. In the capable hands of agent Aaron Wilkerson (see photos below), Nike was again among the top Westies in 2002 and, despite limited exposure, finished his show career that October with a second invitation to the second annual AKC/Eukanuba National Championship Invitational. Nike made an impressive exit from the show ring by making the final cut under esteemed Judge Anne Rogers Clark at the West Highland White Terrier Club of America National Specialty show in October 2002. Nike was a Specialty Best In Show winner and multiple Terrier Group winner. He is and always will be our "Top Dog."

After 16 years of being our love, pride and joy, Nike left us for the Rainbow Bridge, forever leaving an empty spot on our bed and in our hearts.
