Whether engaged in pursuit of "prey" or
soaking up the adoration of those around him, for this little boy, it has always been all about The Chase. Chase had a successful debut at the Lone Star State
Classic Dog Shows in Dallas July 4-7, 2013. Entering the ring for the first time at exactly six months of age on July
4, Chase won Best Opposite in Sweepstakes at the North Texas Terrier Club show under Judge LaRae Shafer. At the Trinity
Valley Kennel Club show on July 7, Chase was Winners Dog for his first major thanks to Judge Clay Coady. Chase's
second outing was at the July 2013 Reliant Park World Series of Dog Shows in Houston, where Chase took a Reserve 5-point
major at the WHWTCSET Specialty Show under Judge Robert Black, another Reserve major at the Beaumont Kennel Club show under
Judge Sally Ray Baugniet, and Winners Dog for a 5-point major at the Galveston County Kennel Club show under Judge Virginia
L. Lyne. Our thanks to professional handlers Alfonso Escobedo, Ashlie Whitmore and Scott Sommer,
who gave Chase a good start in the show ring. Chase was Winners Dog and Best of Winners for
a four-point major the first show day at the Cottonland Cluster in Monroe, Louisiana under Judge Judy Webb (Bayou
Kennel Club show, August 30, 2013), with our thanks to Team Alfonso & Ashlie. With three majors totaling 12 points
and not quite 8 months of age, we decided to hold Chase out the rest of the weekend. Following
a good showing at the National weekend in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, October 4-6, 2013, Team Alfonso & Ashlie showed
Chase to back-to-back Winners Dog victories under Judges Dawn Hansen and Peggy Beisel-McIlwaine at the Tyler Texas Kennel
Club shows October 12 and 13, 2013. Chase picked up his final point and his Champion title the first day at the Stephenville
Kennel Club show in Belton, Texas on October 17, 2013, under Judge Michael Shoreman, going Winners Dog, Best of Winners and
Best Opposite Sex from the 9-12 puppy class with Ashlie Whitmore at the lead. Paula then showed Chase as Best Puppy
and he won the Puppy Terrier Group! In the capable hands of handler Ashlie Whitmore (with Alfonso Escobedo),
Chase quickly earned his Grand Champion title, finishing at the Cajun Cowboy Cluster in Lake Charles, Louisiana, the weekend
of June 5-8, 2014. Chase earned his GCH title the second day of the Acadiana Kennel Club show (June 6) under Judge
Robert D. Whitney (pictured above). We are grateful to Dylan Kipp as well, for her handling of Chase when
Ashlie had to be in another ring.
