Secret Superhero TullyBloom's Call Me Kryptonite likes the words from his theme
song, Kryptonite, by 3 Doors Down: "I'll keep you by my side with my superhuman might, Kryptonite!"
Kryptonite had his first back-to-back show weekend at the San Jacinto Kennel Club show in La Porte, Texas (April 9-10,
2016), where he was Reserve Winners Dog on Saturday under Judge Connie H. Clark, then won his first major from the Bred-by
Exhibitor class, followed by Best of Breed over three specials, and then Terrier Group 3rd honors under Judge Carolyn Taylor
on Sunday. A super feat at 7 1/2 months of age! To top it off, Kryptonite won back-to-back Winners Dog/Best of
Winners from the Bred-by class for five- and four-point majors at the Calcasieu Kennel Club Shows in Lake Charles,
Louisiana, June 11 and 12, 2016, earning his Championship title at 9 months of age. Our thanks to Judges Peggy
Lloyd and Denny Mounce for Kryptonite's final two CH majors. At ten
months, Kryptonite was shown as a champion ("special") for the first time at the Trinity Valley West Highland White
Terrier Club Specialty Show in Dallas on July 7, 2016, and was Select Dog over top Westies for a five-point Grand
Champion Select major under Judge Dianne Ivey. After Dallas, Kryptonite's next time out was at the Houston World Series
of Dog Shows (July 20-24, 2016), where he scored a Select Dog major the first day at the Houston All Terrier Club show under
Judge Vicki Abbott, then an Award of Merit at the West Highland White Terrier Club of SE Texas Specialty Show under Judge
Geir Flyckt-Pedersen, then two more Select Dog wins under Judges Andrew Bruce Kidd and Robert J. Shreve, respectively, at
the Beaumont and Galveston County Kennel Club shows, taking Kryptonite halfway to his Grand Champion title. In the capable
hands of the A-Team professionals, Alfonso Escobedo and Ashlie Whitmore, Kryptonite became a new Grand Champion at just shy
of 14 months of age on the second day of the four-day show cluster in Belton, Texas, October 20-23, 2016 (Stephenville and
Bell County Kennel Club shows). Kryptonite won Best of Breed all four days under Judges Virginia L. Lyne, Robert E.
Hutton, Fred C. Bassett, and Larry G. Kereluke, plus Terrier Group 4 and 3 placements the last two show days. Kryptonite
retired from the show ring at 14 months, at the first weekend of November 2016, and as of his retirement ranked in the Top
Twenty of all Westies in the U.S.A., holding the #20 Breed spot and #18 All Breed standing. On November 19, 2016, our very
special Kryptonite met his new parents, Dr. Ken and Mimi Smith, and new "sister" Stella. Kryptonite (renamed "Charlie")
will be taking it easy in the "Big Easy" (New Orleans, LA), but wil continue to occupy a special place in our hearts.
